Commemoration of the last day of peace in Europe before the outbreak of the First World War

On 27 July, the anniversary of the last day of peace in Europe before the outbreak of the First World War, a musical wave will propagate throughout the world. For the occasion, Italy invited the stubs of Foreign Countries involved in that war to play on the same day by the places most historically significant of the conflict, to remember the victims in a unanimous way and on the notes of  ‘Silence’.

It is an act in memory and a tribute, expressed in the single language universally shared and recognized: the music.
The international project, born from an idea by the journalist and writer Paolo Rumiz, has its artistic direction in trumpeter and composer Paolo Fresu who will play the silence at 14 on the Folgaria Plateau. As a lament, the last greeting to the victims of the First World War, will also be extended to other nations where foreign musicians will play music of equal significance.

This important appointment – which have already joined England, Usa, Greece, Portugal, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, Costa Rica, Montenegro, Slovenia, Russia, Cuba, Poland and Serbia – made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is part of the program of commemorations of the Italian government cared from the Structure of Mission for the anniversaries of national interest of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
