Virtually inaugurated the exhibition Dante Plus 700 – Sofia Edition

Today, 25 March is Dante’s Day – the day of the beginning of Dante’s celebrations all over the world, on the occasion of 700 years after the death of the great poet.

On this occasion, from today in Sofia you can visit the exhibition Dante Plus 700 – Sofia Edition.

The exhibition was inaugurated virtually through the three videos by the Ambassador of Italy to Sofia Giuseppina Zarra, the director of the Italian Cultural Institute Verena Vittur and Marco Miccoli of BONOBOLABO studio.

The group exhibition Dante Plus 700 – Sofia Edition, conceived by Marco Miccoli of BONOBOLABO is taken from the project Dante Plus 700 of Ravenna and brings together a group of artists very different from each other that, passing from illustration to comics and street art, try to give life to a new identity of the Supreme Poet. The languages used by artists range from tempera painting to geometric drawing to the use of 3d software. Some of the images, accompanied by the ARIA logo are visible in augmented reality using the free mobile app “ARIA the AR Platform”.

With the inauguration of the exhibition “Danteplus 700 – Sofia Edition”, realized by this Institute in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Bulgaria and BONOBOLABO Ravenna, the IIC of Sofia begins a series of events to celebrate the 700th anniversary of Dante’s death.

The exhibition, printed on large panels exposed on the outer gate of the Embassy building and in front of the entrance of the Italian Institute of Sofia, faces a pedestrian street and can also be visited in the event of closures or restrictions due to the pandemic.

The open-air exhibition is open from 25 March to 25 June 2021.
