The European Commission is working on a plan to make the visa issuance procedure fully digitized by 2025, both through the possibility of submitting visa applications online and through the dematerialisation of the visa itself, to be released in digital format.
As part of this preliminary phase, the Commission recently launched a public consultation in the form of a questionnaire addressed to visa applicants, representatives of the transport industry and other stakeholders potentially interested in the exercise. The consultation is expected to be completed by 3 June.
