This Saturday the Italian High School of Gorna Banya celebrated 35 years of its foundation and 45 years of the foundation of the Culture Complex. The celebration was attended by a large number of pupils and current students from kindergarten to 12th grade.
Ambassador Giuseppina Zarra addressed the attendees in Bulgarian with the words, “I am very happy to be back here after 22. The school is a way to our country, the economy and the Italian culture, whoever studies Italian is an ambassador of the Italian language and culture, wherever he is. … When I arrived in Bulgaria, I got to know your history and I realized that it is extremely important for me to learn Bulgarian. A Bulgarian scientist who knows 8 languages told me: he who knows a language owns the country. That is why I wish you, dear children – you own Italy”. The Ambassador’s words caused a storm of applause.
On the occasion of the anniversary, the school was awarded the special prize given by the President of the Republic Rumen Radev to the Complex – the sign “St. Cyril and Methodius”.
