On Bulgarian Diplomatic Service Day, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Svetlan Stoev met with the Club of Foreign Ambassadors who speak Bulgarian.
“Language is the most direct connection between people,” said Minister Stoev in his greeting to the seminar participants. The event was hosted by Polish Ambassador Maciej Szymanski.
Among the main topics of discussion were the domestic political situation after the elections in Bulgaria and the constitutional measures to convene the 46th National Assembly and form a regular government.
The process of organizing elections abroad was also discussed. Minister Stoev thanked all foreign authorities for their support of the elections in their respective countries, including for the timely consent to the opening of polling stations, which were now 69% more than in the April elections. In this context, some ambassadors shared good practices in organizing the vote of their fellow citizens abroad, including by mail.
The Club of Bulgarian Speaking Foreign Ambassadors has existed since 2019 and currently has 18 ambassadors accredited in Bulgaria. This was the first meeting of the Club since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
