The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation promotes the dissemination of Italian publishing and film works abroad through the provision of incentives to translation and dubbing\/ subtitling which are a strategic tool for the promotion of Italian language and culture abroad.<\/p>\n
The Farnesina provides the following types of incentives:<\/p>\n
Publishers, translators, production, dubbing and subtitling companies, distribution companies and cultural and international institutions, based both in Italy and abroad, can apply for two types of incentive:<\/p>\n
a. Contributions:<\/p>\n
– incentive to translation into a foreign language and dissemination by means of publication (including in digital e-book format) of Italian literary and scientific works, expected to be published after 1 August 2021;<\/p>\n
– production, dubbing or subtitling in foreign languages of short films, features and television series films to be made after 1 August 2021.<\/p>\n
b. Prizes shall:<\/p>\n
– incentive to Italian works (including digital e-books), including short films and features and television series for the mass media, which have been disseminated, translated, produced, dubbed, subtitled, not earlier than 1 January 2020.<\/p>\n
Applications must be submitted annually to the Italian Institutes of Culture and to the Italian diplomatic and consular representations abroad, in accordance with the procedures established by the Notice.<\/p>\n
The annual deadline is 7 May 2021.<\/p>\n
