The extraordinary Italian taste – Italian days at the FANTASTICO retail chain in Bulgaria

On the occasion of the launch of the campaign to promote Italian food at the 45 stores of the FANTASTICO Chain in Bulgaria, the Ambassador of Italy in Sofia Giuseppina Zarra, visited the store Fantastico in Dragalevtzi. The Ambassador congratulated the Fantastico chain and the ICE Agency for the initiative, expressing personal thanks to the Director Svetoslav Gavrilov for the collaboration and commitment in the promotion of Italian excellence in the food sector.

In the words of Ambassador Zarra “What we put on the table every day is essential for our health and well-being. “Eating well” means not only paying attention to buying healthy products and following a balanced diet, but also enjoying the pleasures that the table reserves. The main ingredients of the Mediterranean diet, present in part in the products of this promotion, promote the overall well-being of the person: fruit and vegetables, whole grains, olive oil and wine, but also fish, white meat, dairy products and eggs. The excellence of Italian food, however, is much more than a list of foods: in Italian culture is in fact central to the meal, a moment of sharing to enjoy together with the family, the closest affections and friends that it could be concluded with a good coffee.”

The promotion of Italian excellence campaign, promoted by the ICE Agency, includes the distribution of brochures in all the sales points of the chain, which will put the spotlight on more than 700 Italian products available at particularly favorable prices.

In 2020 Italy exported food products to Bulgaria for a value of 129 million euros (+1.6% compared to 2018) and Italian beverage exports totaled 60.3 million euros (+43% compared to 2018). The main Italian agri-food products exported to Bulgaria were: meat, dairy products and processed and preserved fruits and vegetables. In 2020, sales of Italian coffee were particularly important, now present almost everywhere in Bulgaria with a great diversity of brands and aromas.
