Disbursement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of contributions aimed at Italy’s participation in international peace and humanitarian initiatives” (deadline: 30/09/2021)

The 2019 Budget Law (Law no. 145 of December 30, 2018, containing “State budget estimates for the financial year 2019 and multi-year budget for the three-year period 2019-2021”), in repealing Law 180/1992, amended Presidential Decree 18/1967 with the insertion of an article 23-ter, containing “new procedures for the disbursement of contributions aimed at Italy’s participation in peace and humanitarian initiatives in international forums”.

The General Directorates that manage the relevant funds – DGMO and DGUE – have drawn up notices of publicity in order to acquire the proposals submitted by private entities to obtain the granting of contributions.

These notices are published on the MAECI website.

With reference to the procedures for submitting applications, article 4 of each of the two Notices stipulates that for parties whose registered office is in a non-EU country, the application must be submitted exclusively through the Italian Diplomatic Representative with territorial jurisdiction (paragraph 2) and that instead of the declaration in lieu of certification, according to the model attached to the Notice, the same parties must produce suitable equivalent documentation according to the legislation of the country of origin, legalized by the Italian Diplomatic Representative with territorial jurisdiction (paragraph 5). Furthermore, for the purposes of the final deadline established by the Notices (30/09/2021), the stamp affixed by the Diplomatic Representation at the time of receipt of the application will be considered authentic (paragraph 6).
